Tamara Djordjevic, aka Tamara Dj, is a Serbian musician based in Melbourne, Australia. She has a Master of Music in Cello Performance, she is also an Electronic Music Producer and Composer.

Her love of music started at an early age and is still there, growing and making her ever more creative and open to experimenting with sound and melodies. Her Serbian heritage and her international performing experiences across her home country and the Balkan region, Japan, New Zealand and Australia, where she now lives, make her style eclectic and unique, and her need for an expression even more thriving. During her career, as a member of Symphony and Opera Orchestras, smaller ensembles, and playing modern music with world-wide known music stars such as Sir Rod Stewart, Tamara appreciates different genres and styles.

“Classical music as well as modern electronic sound are endless playgrounds for exploring and inventing new ways to express emotions and that is what really drives my music making.”

Cello is Tamara’s first love and the main medium for her musical interpretation. Also, the sound of piano is a very important part of the majority of her original compositions.

“ There is nothing comparable with that moment of pure inspiration and also the moment of recognition at the end of the creative process. Those special atmospheres from the past and intimate experiences and emotions are what define my unique and very personal melodies and sound.”

Expressive interpretations of modern songs, her Cello Covers, are a new way to enjoy modern music with a twist of a highly sensual sound of the instrument. She records the songs on electric Yamaha cello and develops them further during production phase, which is her favourite, the most intensive and the most creative part of the work in the process of music making.

Tamara's Original Music is minimalistic in its structure, with rich harmonies, often intense melody layering and colours of sound. Melodies are sentimental, melancholic, full of temperament and passion.
